What are you obsessed about?
Balance ≠ Pogress

On Refuel Friday, we use this time to evaluate our week, focus on our goals, and work on ourselves.
By taking a look at our week, we´re constantly learning from our actions and evaluating whether or not they are taking us to where we want to be.
Relax & Enjoy!
Obsession:
the domination of one’s thoughts or feelings by a persistent idea, image, desire, etc.
We’re all obsessed about something aren’t we?
Whether it´s smoking, eating, or social media, there´s always something we show excessive concern for.
But, as we all know, being obsessed with something has always been deemed as harmful, but is it really?
They say all extremes are wrong and detrimental for our health, but I believe there´s always one extreme that´s better than the other.
In fact, I would dare to say that to build a balanced lifestyle, we first need to obsess about something to later cool it down towards a more balanced approach.
So, let´s change the way we percieve obsession and ask ourselves:
What are we obsessed about and how can we change that?
Being obsessed with smoking = bad for our health
Being obsessed with eating healthy = healtheir lifestyle
Now I know, it´s not perfect. Being obsessed about something always carries a prices, even if it´s something good.
But, if we don´t obsess about it, how can we see progress? How can we be passionate about something if we don´t take ourselves to our extreme emotions?
Being obsessed about something is what took humanity to the moon, what build the world biggest businesses, what brought scientifical progress.
So obsession is not always wrong. It´s just a tool we need to master.
So here´ some question to find what you´re obsessed about:
What activity do you dedicate most of your time apart from your job?
What activity you do on a daily basis you can´t live without?
What subject do you think about the most?
Now use this to change your obsession.
Find something you wish to achieve and go 200% on it.
Read about it, watch videos about it, set a wallpaper about it.
Talk to your partner about it, read a book about it.
Contrary to popualr belief, it´s easy to build motivation, it only requires time and dedication.
“The movers and shakers have always been obsessive nuts.”
- Theodore Sturgeon

Are you a hedgehog or a fox?
In his famous essay “The Hedgehog and the Fox,” Isaiah Berlin divided the world into hedgehogs and foxes, based upon an ancient Greek parable: “The fox knows many things, but the hedgehog knows one big thing.”
Historically, those who´ve built the good-to-great companies were, to one degree or another, hedgehogs. They used their hedgehog nature to drive toward what we came to call a Hedgehog Concept for their companies. Those who led the comparison companies tended to be foxes, never gaining the clarifying advantage of a Hedgehog Concept, being instead scattered, diffused, and inconsistent.

The hedgehog concept is a great tool to understand whether or not we´re taking the right path in our career.
By perfectly aligning passion, skill and finance, you´re assuring your future self you´re highly competitive in your area of expertise.
So, are you a fox or a hedgehog?
