Productivity is fun! Remember that

In Wisdom Wednesday we take a look at information worth sharing with everyone as we dive into books, videos, podcasts and many other things that have drawn mi attention on the last week.

Enjoy!

📖Book of the week:

I can´t recommend this book enough! It´s an incredible and easily digestible book that emphasizes how paramount sharing our work is to our own success.

It´s so easy to limit ourselves to what we could´ve been due to the fear of public shame, but, is it really worth it?

Austin makes it abundantly clear that sharing one´s work should be part of our culture. Embracing the amateur spirit and focusing on the process, not the product is the only way towards personal growth and happiness.

Austin presents a framework that leverages on the power of habits and constantly using your voice to be able to find your audience.

The only way to perfection, is not planning, but repetition. Share your work everyday and you´ll find people who love the same things as you.

If you wish to know more, here´s my notes on the book!

📜Quotes of the week:

“I love argument, I love debate. I don't expect anyone just to sit there and agree with me, that's not their job”

-Margaret Thatcher

“The best way to flourish is to retain an amateur´s spirit and embrace uncertainty and the unknown”

-Austin Kleon

“First comes thought; then organization of that thought into ideas and plans; then transformation of those plans into reality.”

-Napoleon Hill, “The Law of Success”

🛠️Learn something new:

Have you ever felt that days go by with calm and ease like a breeze of stress free activities?

No? Me neither…

Life is a mix of ups and downs, calm and excitement, little and too much, and it´s normal to feel like we can´t handle it all.

Thinking about taking the trash outside, washing the dishes, grabbing the car keys, feeding the dog, and thousands of other things eventually takes space inside our minds.

Think of it like the RAM memory of our computers, yes they may seem fast the moment we turn them on, but at mid-day it feels like another cat video and the computer my light itself on fire.

So what we should do?

**Lighten the load!**

In his book Building a Second Brain, Thiago Forte talks about his proven four step method called CODE, which stands for:

  1. Capture

  2. Organize

  3. Distill

  4. Express

The central idea behind this framework is that it provides “a proven process to consistently turn information into creative output and concrete results”.

So, how does this work? Here´s the plan:

1. Capture only the most important information: It´s better to have one valuable tip than 10 useless!

2. Organize for actionability: Give the information different hierarchies and categories so that they are easily available and understandable!

3. Distill down to the essence: Information is great but useless if it´s not actionable. Simplify it as much as you can!

4. Express yourself: Now that you´ve learned something it´s time to show it to the world. Create something valuable for yourself and others to use!

You see, when we take time to organize all of the information inside our heads, we can arrange it in a way that it´s easily accesible, thus, useful for our future selves.

It´s not about the notes we take, but the quality of our notes.

Next time you face yourself with a blizzard of information heading your way, use the CODE method to lighten the load and calm the storm within.

Is manifestation a superpower, or just a trend?

Why Manifestation Isn’t Just A Trend: How To Manifest - Roxie Nafousi

Listen to this episode from Deep Dive with Ali Abdaal on Spotify. Have you ever wondered how some people effortlessly attract success, abundance, and happiness into their lives? There’s one school of thought that suggests our beliefs and intentions have the power to shape our reality, so by manifesting positive thoughts we’re able to change our reality for the better. Some call this concept ‘manifestation’. Over the past few years, the word manifestation has got mixed reviews - sometimes seen as a transformative practice that has the power to change people’s lives, and sometimes seen as a bit new-age’y and mystical. Today I’m joined by Roxie Nafousi, who’s going to help demystify the conversation around manifestation and help us understand how we can use the practice to be more intentional about what we want in our future to make deliberate positive change in our lives. Roxie is a self-development coach, inspirational speaker, manifesting expert and 2 x Sunday Times Bestselling author. Her debut book MANIFEST: 7 Steps to Living Your Best Life has become a global success since it entered the market in January 2022, and is widely regarded as the must-have guide to manifestation. In the conversation we cover a lot of questions: what are the misconceptions around manifestation? Is there a “right way” and a “wrong way” to manifest? How much does manifesting differ from traditional goal setting? How much is manifestation about achieving something external vs developing internally? What’s the science? And what are some practical tips to start manifesting?Sponsored by Huel - go to https://www.huel.com/deepdive and with your first order you’ll get a free t-shirt and shaker.Sponsored by Trading 212 - download the Trading 212 app https://trading212.com/promocodes/ALI and use the promo code "ALI" after signing up and depositing to receive a random free share worth up to £100.
